Drama
Welcome to the Drama Department at LHS.
Why should I study Drama?
Studying drama at LHS gives you the opportunity to express yourself in a new way and do something totally different!
As well as learning acting techniques and getting involved in a range of activities from set design to costumes, drama provides a supportive environment in which to express emotions and bring difficult issues to life.
Our department is well equipped to support our drama students with two drama studios, a dance studio, staging equipment and professional theatrical lighting and equipment.
What will it involve?
From Year 7 and 8 students are able to take part in drama club after school on Wednesdays. We also give everyone the chance to get involved in a whole school production taking place every year. Some students take to the stage while others are part of the production team making sure everything runs smoothly on and off stage. The production creates a real sense of positivity and community across the school.
At both GCSE and A level, students can undertake a variety of examinations according to their particular interests. These include acting, lighting design, set design and costume and make up design.
What else do I need to know?
We currently offer the following qualifications:
- GCSE Drama
