Global Citizenship Challenge
The Global Citizenship Challenge is designed to develop your critical thinking and problem-solving skills in relation to global issues. You’ll also get to apply creativity and innovation to your review of compelling subject matter, choosing from topics of study such as cultural diversity, fair trade, inequality, sustainability, nutrition and poverty.
Community Challenge
In the Community Challenge you will have the opportunity to identify, develop and participate in activities that will benefit the local community. Either as a team or an individual, you can choose to plan and organise an event around a theme of your choice, such as social and welfare, neighbourhood enhancement and coaching. This practical activity will help you to connect with issues in the local community and develop your planning and organisation skills.
Enterprise and Employability Challenge
The purpose of the Enterprise and Employability Challenge is to give you a taste of enterprise skills which you might need to start your own business or impress a future employer. Working as team you’ll get to develop your own business idea and proposal and pitch your concept as creatively as you like to a panel!
Individual Project
The individual project gives you a chance to focus in on an area of particular interest that reflects your future educational or career aspirations. During your project you’ll develop skills in digital literacy, planning and organisation, critical thinking and problem solving.
The Skills Challenge Certificate is completed through assessments which will take place throughout year 9,10 and 11. Your combined marks from the four challenges will determine whether you are awarded the Skills Challenge Certificate at National or Foundation level.
